WP 6.1 Land Use Impact Modeling

Development of a spatially explicit framework for land use impact modeling based on trade-off- & multi criteria analysis

Work Package 6.1 provides an integrated modeling framework for analyzing the implications of different land use (change) scenarios, in combination with CC scenarios for the provision of socio-ecologically important services and trade-offs among them. Basis is the adaptation of the software platform GISCAME that combines a multicriteria evaluation approach with a cellular automaton and GIS routines. In result, sensitivity analysis will be done considering different change and adaptation alternatives in land use and land management with a focus on agriculture, agroforestry and forestry.

Research Location

Shared development between Center for Development Research, Germany and WASCAL Competence Centre, Burkina Faso; current regional focus on framework development and adaptation, Bolgatanga, Ghana.
