1978 -1992: Research in Germany and the USA, various oceanographic topics, e.g. utilization of tidal power
(application and modification of a numerical shallow water model of the North Sea); data analysis and interpretation of observed oceanic (in situ) variables with resepct to the upwelling dynamics off the coast of Northwest Africa; current-topography interaction (Pacific Ocean); Q-mode-factor analysis of multiple water mass tracers (Pacific Ocean, all depths);
1993-2008: Scientific project management, teaching, executive secretary (honorary post) of the German Society for Marine Reserch (DGM)
Since 2009: Max-Planck-Institute for Meteorology and Deutsches Klimarechenzentrum, Data Managment Department)
