The PAUWES Research-2-Practice Forum 2018 aims to provide a platform for experts/scientists/Education leaders, decision makers, entrepreneurs, private and public sector, policy makers, civil society actors and institutions, interested or active in applied and practice-oriented research for development to discuss the state of the art, challenges and innovative solutions in the areas of renewable energy, water and climate security and build strategic partnership in West Africa.

The forum will be hosted by the Pan African University Institute of Water and Energy Sciences (including Climate Change) (PAUWES); one of the five hubs of the Pan African University (PAU).

PAU was initiated by the African Union Commission (AUC) in 2008 with the objective to promote higher education, science and technology on the African continents at a high academic level.

In order to promote and support applied and practice oriented research and strategic partnerships on renewable energy, water and climate security in Africa, PAUWES with support from the German Government and in cooperation with a consortium of Germany universities (UNU-EHS, ZEF and ITT) led by UNU-EHS and the University Abou Bekr Belkaid in Tlemcen are jointly organizing this international forum.
